Hello and welcome to the Sue Cooke Driving School.  I am a fully qualified DSA registered Driving Instructor and hold a Grade Gold RoSPA advanced driving qualification.  I offer a personal driving tuition package to suit all ages and levels.  I also have a high pass rate which I am very proud of.

My pass rate with new students is high because I know what examiners want and I put a huge effort into honing a pupils skills to that and more.. so not only do they have an above average chance of passing, they are more confident and above all SAFER drivers afterwards.

I am very patient and reliable and accept all ages and people of all levels.

Flexible Bookings

The lesson time is flexible to suit your pocket so at the time of your booking you can specify whether you require one hour, one and a half hours, two hours or more.

Introductory Special Offer Lesson

This is a two hour Lesson.  If you are a complete beginner this session will get you started. You will learn all about the controls including how the clutch works and then have a chance to start driving. For those of you who have driven before this is an assessment lesson to enable me to establish your driving skill level and to give instruction and guidance where needed. This is also a chance to get to know me as an instructor. I work hard to make the lesson as enjoyable and friendly as possible with an emphasis on learning. You will also get to know the car which is a Peugeot 206 1.4 diesel fitted with dual controls. You will be under no obligation to book further lessons if you do not wish to do so.

Door to Door Service

You will be picked up from your door promply at the time agreed. Should I have any delay due to traffic congestion which is unavoidable then I will endeavour to contact you as a matter of courtesy. I always keep appointments and all lessons will be up to the time frame specified making sure that my customers never lose out. The pickup service also includes from schools, collage and workplace.

One to One Theory Sessions

I will assist anyone who is having difficulty with the Theory and Hazard Perception in order for a high pass mark to be achieved on the Test.  Normal hourly rate applied.

Intensive Courses

Intensive courses are flexible. Depending on the individual person, they can  be used to drastically condense the length of time taken to accumulate the required amount of recommended hours  to gain enough experience, accumulating the recommended amount of hours that increase experience  and road safety knowledge. This way, students can be ready for the practical test within a week.  

The practical test does not necessarily have to be booked for the same week. By delaying it for a week or two you will find the pressure is taken off, you'll enjoy the driving course and have a better chance of retaining the knowledge. Some people prefer this system and reserve the latter end of the course for it leading up to the test.

Intensive courses can also start on a Monday and finish with the test on Friday if desired, subject to availability.

Please note that the Theory test must be taken and passed before commencing intensive courses to enable the test to be booked in advance.

Refresher Courses

If you already possess a UK driving license and have been driving for a number of years you may  benefit from a refresher lesson.   I will assess your driving and any 'bad habits' that may compromise your road safety will be brought to your attention and guidance will be given in order to regain a good standard of driving.

The majority of road traffic collisions are due to driver error.  Lack of concentration being the main factor followed by observation and the ability to deal with the situation safely.  You may be surprised at how much more you can learn and what you can do to highten your awareness to deal  with today's hazards.  This can also help reduce the risk of an Insurance Claim which can end up being an expensive penalty.

Learning should be fun.  If you are happy and in a relaxed environment then the learning process should be easier.

Pass Plus Day Course

Once you have passed your test, within anytime of your 1st year of driving,  you will be able to take a Pass Plus Day Course.  During the day you will have an opportunity to further your education and improve your driving skills.  Motorway driving will also be on the agenda learning how to change lanes safely and using slip roads.  There will be small breaks and lunch is included.

The Pass Plus Course could save you ££££'s on your 1st year's car insurance in some cases up to a 40% saving.  Free information packs are available on request including a list of participating Insurance Companies.

Please remember that driving under the influence of Alchol or Drugs is illegal and must be considered before you undertake a lesson especially if it is an early morning appointment and you have been drinking the night before.
